He is excited to help revive downtown Plain City and bring the community a place where they can gather together and enjoy their town.
ALYSSA - Owner
Alyssa Mitchell grew up in the small town of Belvidere, IL. There she held her first job as a server at a restaurant called Taqueria San Jose #5 at the age of 15. She knew little Spanish, but she knew how to crack jokes and had a strong work ethic.
Eventually, Alyssa left that job and worked retail until finding herself back in the service industry just a few years later. This time she was working in the greatest downtown city bars. Busy nights, slinging drinks, and socializing with guests quickly became a passion of hers.
In 2015, Alyssa moved to her husband’s hometown of Bellefontaine, OH. There they have planted roots and are raising their two kids and seventeen dogs (okay, just two kids and five dogs! Very... peaceful).
Alyssa met Tim Dawson during one of Tim’s other business ventures. They very quickly built a solid working relationship and decided to put their talents together in Plain City to open up The Grainery as a BBQ restaurant. Since opening The Grainery in October 2019, Alyssa has been so thankful for the warm welcome she has received from the Plain City community and for the support of everyone in the surrounding areas. The Grainery would not be where it is today without all of you!
